I will be going on a mini-vacation this weekend until early next week. My friend Erika and I will be going to Cambodia to go on a touristy trip to see temples and eat happy pizza. Of course, we will make sure we will not miss watching the Oscars just because we consider it an important life event.

I depart Manila tomorrow already, but this is what I have packed so far. Seriously, I packed these first. I was too scared to forget my hooks and yarn!

The Traveling Yarn Cabinet

It will be my first time this Nov. 23 (Sat.) to go out there and sell yarn and other crochet and knitting supplies. I'm quite nervous but really excited! I've been trying to figure out how to display my merchandise, especially the different kinds of yarn that I have in my store.

I got lucky when I found this cabinet in an antique shop. It's solid wood (I'm a sucker for real wood antique furniture). It was tucked at the back corner of the display area. I was told by the store attendant that nobody really noticed this cabinet. I'm glad nobody did before :p  I didn't have plans of getting a cabinet, or anything actually, when I entered the shop. It's a one-of-a-kind piece though, so I had to have it for myself. I also love that this cabinet has wheels!

Its mobility gave me the idea that this can actually be my yarn stall. It's compact but it has enough storage to display yarn. I did some experimenting on how to display my yarn and also some crocheted shawls and scarves I will be selling during my pop-up events.

This time last year, I launched my Facebook Page, Crochet by the Gantsilyo Guru. Officially, Gantsilyo Guru is 1 year old! My birthday is also coming up, so I want to treat yarn lovers out there with a special sale of our baby yarn!

First Monthsary Sale for Gantsilyo Guru Selections!

It's almost a month since we launched Gantsilyo Guru Selections! To celebrate our monthsary week, we are offering 15% off on all our Kuka and Oren Bayan yarn and Ice Baby Merino yarn!

We have many colors for each yarn. Ice Baby Merino (leftmost) is a soft yarn made of wool and cashmere-like polyamide. Kuka Summer (middle) is made of mercerized cotton. On sale as well is the Coton Perle 8 thread of Oren Bayan (right). This thread can be used not only for needlework but also to crochet accessories like earrings.

These items on sale must be checked within Sep. 9 and 13. Payment must also be made within Sep. 9 and 16 so you may avail of the sale prices.
